What are electronic cigarettes?
An e-cigarette or an electronic cigarette is an electronic apparatus for smoking. Electronic cigarettes are increasingly gaining worldwide acceptance as a less harmful procedure than the routine tobacco smoking.
Electronic cigarettes function by heating up liquid holding nicotine to make vapour. The vapour thus produced is breathed in by the user.
Electronic Cigarette:
Components The three principal components of an electronic cigarette are namely, cartridge, atomizer and battery.
Cartridge
The cartridge functions as a mouthpiece and a reservoir for containing liquids. It is a small-sized container made of plastics. There are openings on both ends of the cartridge.
The cartridge permits the liquid to pass on to the atomizer and also grants safe passage to the vapour from the atomizer so that it can reach the mouth of the user. The cartridge never allows liquid to escape into the mouth.
Atomizer
The atomizer is located between the battery and the cartridge. It comprises of a simple thread and silica wick or metal net to draw in the liquid. The atomizer also contains a small heating coil for evaporating the liquid. In certain electronic cigarette models, the atomizer and the cartridge are united. In these models, the combined component is known as the cartomizer.
Battery
The battery is one of the indispensable components of an electronic cigarette. Most of the electronic cigarettes contain a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The batteries of electronic cigarettes are charged through a USB, car or AC outlet. A few manufacturers of electronic cigarettes also provide a cigarette-pack-like portable charging case (PCC). This portable charging case or PCC includes a larger battery that can help in charging small-sized batteries of individual e-cigarettes.
If you are a cigarette smoker and are unwilling to quit then opt for electronic cigarettes as they deliver far better results than any other cigarette product available in the market.
