Champix Made Available Over-The-Counter In UAE

The quit smoking medicine chantix (champix) has been made available over-the-counter in several UAE pharmacies. However, according to sources, as champix was approved in UAE last year, the country has emerged as the first nation in that region to gain approval of the medication and since then the sales of Champix has risen tremendously.
Further, regarding the cost and availability of Champix, it is known that the cost of champix is around Dh450. Altogether, the medicine is available in a 56 pills batch and each pill contains one milligram dosage.
However, in Jumeirah, a revelation by two pharmacists makes it apparent that champix is being sold there without a prescription by a physician, moreover just after the launch of champix, Dr Bassam Mahboub, the Head of the National Smoking Cessation Committee, states that the approval granted to champix is definitely important as the medicine provides cure for nicotine addiction in an effective and novel manner. He also expresses that a whole lot of people feel the eagerness to quit smoking or are informed by doctors that they need to quit smoking and champix, is especially designed in a way that it helps people in getting rid of smoking addiction effectively.
