Henry And Stark County Health Department Gears Up To Offer Free Chantix
Date: 30th December 2009
Henry and Stark County Health Department and llinois Tobacco Quitline/American Lung Association Helpline have reportedly joined hands to start an anti-smoking program in order to help residents of Henry and Stark County to quit smoking. It has become apparent that as per the suggestions of the Illinois Tobacco Quitline, the quit smoking program would offer prescriptions of the anti-smoking medicine chantix, gum or patches free of cost or at a decreased price.
Sources also make it apparent that the smoking cessation treatments are available only with the support of parents and order of physicians, to participants aged 18 or older and also to people who are below 18 years of age.
However, for participating in the program, an individual needs to ring the Quitline at 1-866-QUIT-YES or 1-866-784-8937 and after receiving the call, the Quitline is likely to release a packet to the participant containing specific information. The Quitline would also offer free counseling by phone to the participants and is likely to provide additional suggestions to them on certain subsequently developed issues.
