Pfizer Incl Gears Up To Launch Chantix DTC Campaign

After the quit smoking drug Chantix received marketing clearance on 2006 and the sales of the drug reached $168 million in the first few months of 2007, Pfizer, the chantix maker is readying itself to launch direct to consumer (DTC) campaign of chantix. Ian Read, Pfizer VP and president of its Worldwide Pharma Operations, makes it clear that the chantix DTC campaign is slated for 24 th September in US and he further expresses hope that the chantix direct to consumer campaign would add to the momentum of chantix sales.
Pfizer clarifies that along with launching chantix DTC campaign, the company is trying to provide specific instruments to physicians as adherence tools and is trying to reach out to patients via pharmacy programs as well as through a special “Get Quit” program, which is primarily aimed at behavior modification in patients.
