Date: 3rd November 2008
According to the online legal resource LegalView, the Pfizer manufactured quit smoking medicine Chantix is yielding serious side-effects among users of the medication. The side effects include getting unconsciousness and developing seizures for brief periods while driving, thereby causing traffic accidents.
However, a report submitted by "Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP)", a safety watchdog group, includes data detailing 1,001 seizure cases that are witnessed among Chantix users within the first quarter of 2008 and among these, 15 cases are found to yield traffic accidents and 52 other cases are found to trigger off unconsciousness in individuals.
The victims of Chantix side-effects may claim compensation from Pfizer Incl. by filing a chantix class action lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company.
