Chantix Maker Pfizer Is Ready To Decrease Sales Force
November 30, 2006
In an announcement released by Pfizer Incl. (PFE) it is stated that in order to streamline the company's sales organization to meet the requirements of the customers, the company has decided to decrease the number of its sales personnel by 20%. Further, company officials reveal that since the number of products sold by the pharmaceutical organization is not so high the company is looking forward to more cuts in January so that a higher amount of profit can be gained.
A few weeks ago in mid October, such operations by Pfizer were confirmed to be in progress and now the company is looking forward to make more announcements in January where it can elaborate on its future plans in detail.
Behind the introduction of cuts by Pfizer there may be a possibility that the company is contemplating to buy biotech or other smaller pharmaceutical industry having good pipeline but without capital to usher in new medicines to the market. Pfizer is rich with a wealth of capital and experience and so is able to make it a reality.
Though Pfizer is planning to decrease the number of sales force, the company has revealed that it would continue to maintain support for important drugs like Lipitor and Celebrex as well as other products such as Lyrica and Chantix.
