February 7, 2007
According to an article appeared in the present issue of the magazine "Health", the efficacy of the quit smoking drug Chantix against nicotine withdrawal symptoms is twice to the anti-smoking medicine Zyban and four times more than the placebos.
Dr. Albert Polito a lung doctor at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore states that nicotine replacement therapies such as nicotine gum, patch and the anti-smoking medicine Zyban are available to treat nicotine withdrawal symptoms but they are proved to be addictive for patients.
Elaborating on Chantix, he adds that it is not a magic pill and is effective only in a person who is self-motivated to quit smoking.
